Great demand for Günter Wermekes’ professional competence in Asia
Günter Wermekes was appointed to the jury of the "Taipei International Design Award" TIDA this year. The capital of Taiwan, Taipei, has been offering this price for excellent design since 10 years now. Organizer is the "China Productivity Center" CPC. Metropolitan Taipei with its 2.5 million citizens has been "World Design Capital" in 2016 highlighting the standing of Design in this region of the world.
In total more than 4500 pieces of design-work have been submitted from the field of Industrial Design, Communication Design, and Public Space Design, from which the jury is to make its choice of the winner by the end of September. Besides Wermekes 11 judges from 7 nations will be involved.
Wermekes comes in with his international experience serving as a judge for the renowned "Red Dot Design Award" from 2014 to 2016. By the way, the trophy of the "Red Dot Award" named ‘Best of the Best’ is also a Wermekes design that is handcrafted in his studio…
