Best Supplier Award

Understatement instead of striking presentation

Günter Wermekes has created a prize sculpture for the ‘Best Supplier Award’ which highlights the sovereignty of the Busch-Jaeger company. He deliberately chose maple wood for the body – a material which grows, alters and gains a patina.

The shape is reduced and monolithic in form and is based on some of the striking product ranges of this market leader in electrical installation technology. Both the value of the material with its developed structure and the reserved three-dimensional integrated logo are emphasised. Understatement instead of striking presentation of the company logo.

The technique is uncomplicated and effective: the internal movable aluminium panel inside the sculpture offers space for text and image information about the prize winner. But this does not affect the overall design. The ‘Best Supplier Award’ is a reminder of the partners of Busch-Jaeger who are characterised by their particular technical expertise.
